About Conscious Conception
The Apex Conscious Conception Programme is the leading programme from The Apex Practice, an established holistic therapy centre based in Harley Street, London. We are seen as one of the city’s leading choices in complementary health support for those diagnosed with unexplained/psychogenic infertility. For many years, we have supported individuals and couples, who feel that psychological factors may be impacting upon their ability to conceive.

Our 4-stage approach allows us to explore you and your mind, understand your past and present, and how that could be affecting you in your journey to bring a child into the world.

Our experienced psychotherapists and clinical team are friendly, compassionate, and appreciate that infertility can be an emotional journey. Our goal is to help you explore, understand and overcome these difficulties, providing you with the best chances possible to conceive.

We provide a free initial consultation, which can be completed over the phone or via a Zoom consultation.
The role of psychotherapy in the treatment of unexplained infertility
Psychotherapy is an important intervention which can help couples suffering from unexplained infertility. Ideally, therapeutic counselling should begin before patients start any medical intervention.
Some studies have indicated that seeking support for depression, anxiety and stress may – in some cases - help increase the chances of conception. In addition, other studies have shown that treatments such as cognitive behavioural therapy or rational emotive behavioural therapy can also benefit couples. It can also help with mood swings and sleep disorders, which can be related. Psychotherapy can also help create more effective coping mechanisms.

In addition to psychotherapy for couples who are having difficulty with fertility, it is also recommended that other complementary interventions should be considered such as meditation, deep breathing, yoga, acupuncture, guiding imagery and hypnotherapy.
